Shazam – I heard that one-quarter to one-third of ads would use them, but I looked long and hard at the ads and only saw the Shazam logo a handful of times. And sometimes it wasn’t even on there for the whole :30 spot. Did anyone else have better luck? The half time show Shazam was good. I got a free song OMFG (I think that’s the name), but I haven’t had a chance to download it yet.
Chevy Game Time – No car. I did get 25% off of Papa Johns, but the coupon is only good until this Sunday and Bryan made a massive lasagna that we’ve been working on all week, so it will go to waste. I also go 25% off of NFL.com, but I have no desire to get anything.
Adbowl – I liked being able to rate the commercials as we saw them and I got some of my friends into the game as well (we started all unanimously voting on my iPad). It was a little hard to juggle though and sometimes the company’s wrong ad was being displayed. But it was overall fun.
GetGlue – Yawn. I checked in and couldn’t find out what else to do with it. Did anyone find that activity engaging during the show? Anyone care to share? As soon as I signed up, I had about 20 of my friends start following me, but I don’t know if that’s an automatic feature or that many people are that active with it. You know who you are.
I was so busy doing the Chevy Game Time app trivia during the game and actually watching the game itself, that I didn’t have time to visit with the Polar Bears. Did anyone get to read their live remarks during the game? I have to admit, they creep me out a little bit as they reach way across the uncanny valley for polar bears.
Overall, I like how it brought a new layer to the game. Unfortunately, I was not the best audience member to take advantage of all of this.
On a positive note for the Superbowl, the NFL’s fantasy football ads got more than 1.7 million text entries to “Live Like A Millionaire.” I was using the iPad though with my phone tucked away in my purse, so I didn’t get to participate. Did anyone else? Are you still getting texts from them or are they leaving you alone?

Patti:
The time is fast approaching (or already here) when the ads overshadow the game. Fortunately for the NFL the game was pretty good this year.
